Joke in the Name of Research

While browsing through Rediff archives, I came across this useful survey on Best Cities to live in India.

The survey was conducted by Confederation Of Indian Industry & Institute of Competitiveness.

Supposedly, CII mapped 37 Indian cities, on a basis of 300 indicators, for a period of 10 years and came out with these winners.

I recommend reading the article to know how to waste essential resources and come out with dumb results.

So, Delhi is the safest city in the country and Mumbai ranks first in political environment.

OK.

Once you have been adequately amused by the results, I suggest you read all comments to the story. They will keep you laughing for at least a few hours.

I specifically loved the below comment by a hurt Pune–ite, who believes Pune should have been ranked higher because –

“Pune is the only city in the world to have commercial and defense Airport operating from the same strip.“

I love Rediff for it’s editorial comments on various issues of Security, Intelligence and Politics.
